De 100G QSFP28 ER1 optische transceivermodules zijn ontworpen om 100G Ethernet te ondersteunen, geschikt voor datacenterverbindingen tot 30 km over enkelvoudige vezel. De 100G QSFP28 ER1-module is compatibel met de 100G-ER1-30 specificatie van de 100G Lambda MSA. Het transmissie-einde zet 4x25G NRZ elektrische signalen om in 1x100G PAM4 optische signalen.
